BOAT SHOW PRE-EVENT ACTIVITIES AND SOCIAL EVENTS

Join us for a weekend of fun-filled social events and three days of pre-event activities!

You do not have to be an exhibitor to enjoy these events

Pre-event activities and social events are open to all boat show exhibitors, ACBS Members, and their guests. You do not have to exhibit a boat to attend. Tickets for all pre-event activities and social events may be purchased using this form or online at acbs.ca/events. Events sell out quickly; please be sure to purchase your tickets in advance.

PRE-EVENT ACTIVITIES

Tuesday, July 4, 2017 – 5:00 p.m. -  Welcome to Gravenhurst Meet and Greet - Oar & Paddle (Gravenhurst) – Reservations required

Kick off the boat show pre-events over dinner with your fellow boaters.

Cost: No registration fee, but each person is responsible for their own dinner cost. Please use this form to make your dinner reservations. Do no contact the restaurant directly.

Wednesday, July 5, 2017 – Full Day Event - Lake of Bays - Boating Distance: Approximately 50 miles with a mix of open and sheltered water.

Registration Cost: $15 per person. Bottled water will be provided.

Each person is responsible for their own lunch cost. Reservations must be made as part of registration.

Thursday, July 6 – Full Day Event - Gravenhurst – Lake Muskoka and Lake Joseph - Boating Distance: Approximately 100 miles with a mix of open and sheltered water.

Registration Cost: $15 per person. Bottled water will be provided. Each person is responsible for their own lunch cost. Reservations must be made as part of registration.

Friday, July 7 – Gull Lake - Non-Motorized Craft Rendezvous - NEW!

Canoes, rowboats, and dinghy sailboats will gather at Gull Lake Park. Gull Lake is large enough to for all three kinds of boats to play at once, with a enough shoreline to enjoy, and open water for the sailboats. There is a great beach, ample parking, and washrooms handy.

The rendezvous is intended to be a casual event, with no admission fee. Bring a picnic lunch, and enjoy a relaxing day with fellow small boat owners. Trailer or car top your boat. There will likely be lots of helping hands to lift or move your boat off the car or trailer. Arrive between 9 and 11 on July 7 and stay as long as you like, up until 4, rain or shine. The Muskoka Paddling Club and other local groups are expected join us in this celebration.

Cost: Free, but registration appreciated

Friday, July 7 - 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. - Poker Run

Head out on Lake Muskoka, collect your cards, and return for a delicious BBQ lunch (and prizes!) at the Muskoka Discovery Centre at 12:30 p.m. 

Cost: $30 per person

***IMPORTANT NOTES***

Boaters participating in these events must have their boats and trailers in top mechanical condition! We recommend that you bring adequate tools and parts with you in case of a breakdown. Due to the distance covered in these runs, we can assist a stranded boat to the nearest marina or facility, but you are responsible for your own repairs and transportation. We cannot tow boats for long distances!

Ontario Law does not allow any open alcohol on board. If packing a lunch or refreshments, please leave the alcohol at shore. These laws are enforced!

SOCIAL EVENTS

Friday Night Reunion Dinner

Friday, July 7 – Cocktails 5:30/Dinner 7:00 – Muskoka Discovery Centre.

Enjoy a three-course meal; share boat stories with friends and other boat enthusiasts; and congratulate this year’s Honour Role inductees and Volunteer of the Year and President’s Cup award winners. Dinner choices include salmon, chicken, or vegetarian.

Cost: $60 per person (cash bar). Tickets are available in advance only. Tickets will not be sold at the door.

VIP Lunch

Saturday, July 8 - 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Lions Pavilion

Sponsor Awards to be presented at 1:00 p.m.

Cost: $30 per person (includes one beverage) – cash bar

Fashion Show

Saturday, July 8 – 2:00 p.m. Lions Pavilion

Featuring clothing from Muskoka Bay Clothing and Muskoka Discovery Centre.

Cost: Free admission – cash bar

WAVE Opportunity: Volunteer fashion models needed – all shapes and sizes welcome. Check the box at the end of the registration form for more information.

Sunday Brunch

Sunday, July 9 – 11:00 a.m. – Venue to be determined

This popular event sells out early.

Cost: $40 per person – cash bar. Tickets are available in advance only. Tickets will not be sold at the door.

BOAT SHOW EXHIBITORS

Please use this form to register your boat for in-water or on-land display. There is no fee to register; however, unregistered boats cannot be accommodated. To celebrate Canada’s Sesquicentennial, we are offering free admission to this show, so wristbands will not be distributed.

Registration Desk Hours:

Pick up your registration package (boat display card, poster, and exhibitor's gift bag) at the Registration Desk in front of the Lions Pavilion on Friday, July 7 - 1:00-4:00 p.m. and Saturday, July 8 - 8:00 - 11:00 a.m.

On-land displaysshould be set up on Friday, July 7 between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. In-water displays should be at the dock no later than 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 8. Please plan to be part of the show until 4:00 p.m. Site Security will be provided on Friday and Saturday night.

Please ensure that your boat fits into one of our classification categories.

Classifications:

Historic: any boat built up to and including 1918

Antique: any boat built between 1919 and 1942 inclusive

Classic: any boat built between 1943 and 1975 inclusive

Late Classic: any boat built between 1976 and 1991 – note that exceptions apply.*

Early Contemporary: any wooden boat built between 1976 and 1990 inclusive

Late Contemporary: any wooden boat built in the last 25 years

*Registrations for pontoon boats, inflatables, and small personal watercraft will not be accepted.
